SO Ready!

I'm SO ready to be out for Christmas Break! I really could be worse, but I'm tired of setting that alarm at night and hearing it going off in the morning! I'm really tired of getting ready in the morning! That's probably why I've been wearing work-out pants, cuddle-dud shirt, long sleeve T, and tennis shoes every day! That's not like me! Usually I try to dress it up a bit more, but when you usually end up in the floor with kids, who cares what I'm wearing! It also gets me to the park to run before I come home! I love doing that! That's what I'm going to do during my break: spend time with Dixie, relax, run, and not think about work at all! Unless an opportunity comes up that I can quit!! That would be great!
I hope Christams with the families go smoothly. It seems something comes up that stresses me out. I hate it, but it does. Maybe that's where that 'little green pill' will come in handy! While everybody says it's the most wonderful time of the year for them, it's the most stressful time of the year for me. Bring on the summer!

I did it!

I ran the Memphis Grizzlies House 5K, St, Jude's race for TEAM JAKE! My time wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't that bad either since I had to walk most of the way. I woke up sick the Monday before and I got worse as the week went along. I stayed at the Peabody with Gina, Amber, and Lena. When I went down to the race, I thought I had missed the group picture for Team Jake, but I saw them and ran over. I got to meet Melanie (Mo), Jin-Jin, and Veronica. I had met the Kaufman's the night before. I told them all it felt like I was meeting celebrities! I was truly overwhelmd about getting to finally meet them in person! I saw Staci as I was on my 3rd mile! They are all beautiful people...outside and IN! I've always been inspired by them and still am. I continue to share their story to others. As I was walking the race I prayed for this precious family and others. I know that their arms still just ache to hold sweet Jake, and I prayed for God to keep them close as he always has! I hope to run the half marathon next year! With Jake in mind, I bet I can!

5K for Team Jake

I'm running the St. Jude's 5K Marathon for Team Jake. I thought and thought about this. And a few weeks ago I began training with some girls that I work closely with at another facility. I'm really excited and a little nervous. I hope the weather will be good! When I signed up, the full and half marathon were filled! WOW! I can't wait to meet Jake's family and friends. I feel like I know them so well...although they have no idea who I am! I was asked to join with a family of a little girl that I work with, but Team Jake felt right! So, JAKE it is!

I'm BACK!!

I told you that early childhood special ed. took a lot of time! The paperwork is HORRIBLE, but it is summer now! And now that it is summer, I only work "part time". I only have one little girl that I see for therapy and then I do conferences and evaluations. But I never know what might come in. I have to cover all five counties in the summer, but they did get me some help this summer so I wouldn't come back in the fall a CRAZY person (like I did last year)!
Last year was crazy. Bunches of changes and I did cope well with those. Plus, just a big lack of respect for the people who actually work drove me nuts, after all these years. I hope next school year will be better!
We are taking off to our lake house for a while and I'm SO excited to get out on that lake! It is so calming to me. We are going to meet up with some friends. We will also get to see our preacher that just left our church for the Methodist Church at the lake. I've been so sad to see him go. I love him and appreciate him so much!
Dixie is doing good, just spoiled rotten as ever. I know she'll enjoy the lake too! She loves getting in the water and float!
Well, maybe my next post will be sooner than later!

Busy for now....

I'm sure working hard these days! I'll get to blogging soon! Early childhood special education requires TONS of paper work as well as seeing and evaluating kids.
Hope everybody is having great fall weather!
I'll be back as soon as I can find time!
